Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share two resources that will help teachers integrate the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students. One I just learned about recently, and the other is a project I have helped teachers implement for the last few years.

#GlobalSpeedChat for the Global Collaborator
This is a great project that allows students to share parts of their culture on a shared Padlet board. Then they are able to read comments and view pictures or podcasts from students all over the world. I really like the projects because they are easy to implement and could take as little as 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how well your students know how to type, post pictures, etc. I can also see how these simple projects can lead to class discussions, writing lessons, and other classroom activities. Submissions are accepted all year long

ePals/Smithsonian Invent-It Challenge for the Innovative Designer
I have helped students participate in this engineering challenge for the last five years. This year the theme asks students to develop a solution to an environmental issue. Students work through the engineering process including creating prototypes, testing, and then selling their invention. Students even have the opportunity to win a patent. Submissions are due March 17th

Do you have any other resources you are using in your schools to help integrate the ISTE Standards? I would love to hear how others are implementing the standards this year.
