Practice What You Preach
Rob Funk is a Colorado native, very much at home on the plains or in the mountains. Growing up around a farming lifestyle, he understands the value of hard work and craftsmanship. He has figured out that f you love your work, then it really isn’t a job. Rob Funk, a son to educators, swore up and down he’d never be in the field of education, yet has found his home in the classroom. His past coaching & sales experiences, as well as continuing education with a Masters in Instructions & Curriculum, has provided Rob with experiences with hard work and sharing expertise with others.
Rob is a middle school teacher coaching young minds to think. He has been exploring basic biology and physics with students for the past 17 years. The new Innovation & Design Lab is his dream come true for his teaching career. Rob developed the Innovation & Design Lab from an idea, spending a significant amount of time defining what is most important for students (Thinking). He is an invaluable resource for students and teachers, willing to push the envelope of intelligence. Students are guided through challenges that are an exercise of the mind, to stay mentally fit and nimble. Yet, guided personal choice for students is at the forefront of their learning curriculum, in and out of the classroom. Rob carefully crafts a classroom dynamic on differentiation, known to others as “organized chaos”, in the I&D Lab. Multiple interests reflect the multiple projects under construction at any given time. Rob has found his calling, to guide others along their journey of learning.
