Jason T. Abbitt is an assistant professor of instructional design and technology in the Department of Educational Psychology at Miami University. He received his PhD in education and MEd in educational technology from the University of Idaho and also holds a BA in English from Indiana University. He has been a facilitator of professional development workshops for K–12 and higher education faculty focusing on the integration of technology into teaching practices and is currently the managing editor for the Journal of Interactive Online Learning. He was a recipient of a 2009 Faculty Innovator Award from the University System of Ohio for his work on using collaborative Internet systems in higher education. His current research interests include developing best practices for preparing teachers to use technology and the development of Internet-based learning and collaboration systems for higher education.
