Bio

I've spent over 12 years working with K-12 learners as a social science teacher, instructional coach, learning director, and director of after school programs. I've been lucky to be a part of Lindsay Unified School Districts transformation to a learner-centered performance based system for the past 8 years. With 3 young adopted sons, my husband and I recently relocated from California to Texas to be closer to family. I'm currently working in product development as a curriculum writer for MindWorks Resources. MindWorks Resources is a Dallas based organization that develops hands on and interactive learning experiences with project based learning components. My recent projects include developing a new component for technology integration in after school programs that supports time to tinker with tech. To learn more about Lindsay Unified School District or MindWorks Resources, please visit their websites. All work and no play is just no fun. I have been happily married to Josh since 2003. In 2012 we fostered and one year later adopted three brothers who were 1, 2, & 3 at the time - Jace, Joaquin, & Jonah. Life with 3 boys and 4 dogs can be a bit hectic, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We recently moved back home to Texas from California so our boys can grow up surrounded by family. I'm redeveloping my personal website and blog. The primary purpose of my site is to share tips, tools, and resources educators can use in their classrooms. As a curriculum writer, this site also serves as my digital toolbox. Last but not least, I'm taking this move as an opportunity to put words into action. I've always wanted to try blogging because I enjoy writing, building PD, and figuring out ways to integrate technology to make learning personal. Seeking simple solutions to organize, collaborate, and purposefully integrate technology in the classroom. Let's make learning personal, meaningful, and relevant for all. This is our story.
