For the past eight years, Kae Novak has been an instructional designer and student success coordinator for Online Learning at Front Range Community College in Colorado. She chairs ISTE’s Games and Simulations Network, which explores learning in MMORPGs, virtual worlds and augmented reality simulations. She has created and facilitated online educational conferences and events for the past five years, including online best practices conferences that have included more than 2,000 participants. This year she was chosen Edovator of the Year in the Readers’ Choice Awards by the Virtual Education Journal. She has co-authored a chapter on game-based learning and a case study on student engagement in immersive environments. She has won additional educational awards for design in virtual worlds, professional development offerings and Machinima.
