ISTE Global Collaboration PLN Annual Award for Innovation in Online Global Collaboration
You can nominate someone or even yourself up until February 29 for the chance to be recognized at the ISTE Conference and Expo 2016 in Denver.
Information about the award:
The ISTE Global Collaboration PLN Annual Award for Innovation in Online Global Collaboration
recognises an educator or educators who have shown innovation in the
design and implementation of online global collaboration for learning.
Global
collaboration broadly refers to geographically dispersed educators,
classrooms, schools and other learning environments that use online
technologies to learn with others beyond their immediate environment in
order to support curricular objectives, intercultural understandings,
critical thinking, personal and social capabilities and ICT
capabilities.
To be eligible for this award applicants must be able to show evidence of the global collaboration being: (see below for further details)

Nominees must show evidence of global collaboration:
Design:
The nominee has clearly shared a global collaboration design that
allows for an interdisciplinary focus and student choice in process and
outcomes
Collaboration:
The nominee clearly shows the global collaboration has been implemented
with two or more classrooms or groups of students/learners as equal
collaborative learners
Activity: The nominee has made the process and outcomes of the global collaboration visible to an external audience
Constructivism:
The nominee shares a global collaboration where learners interact and
work together to share ideas and resources and co-construct artifacts
Innovation: The
nominee uses online digital technologies across global learning
communities in new and interesting ways to support connection,
communication, collaboration and co-creation
Authenticity: The
nominee demonstrates authentic learning taking place as part of the
global collaboration resulting in a positive impact on individual
learners as well as on local and global communities
Professional Leadership:
The nominee has made a significant contribution to the advancement of
global collaboration and learning using online digital technologies
The nominee's work reflects the mission and purpose of ISTE.
The nominee will represent ISTE well in all forums.
The nominee exemplifies ISTE Standards for Teachers
Nominees are encouraged to refer to the full list of performance indicators for each of the following five standards.
1. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Teachers
use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and
technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning,
creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual
environments.
2. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments
incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and
to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the ISTE Standards for Students.
3. Model digital age work and learning
Teachers
exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an
innovative professional in a global and digital society.
4. Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital
culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices.
5. Engage in professional growth and leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit
leadership
in their school and professional community by promoting and
demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.
