Virtual Education Journal (VEJ) Looking for Additional Articles

Hello Everyone,

If there is something Games & Sims related that you would like us to get out into the wider world, VEJ would like to know.. If you can write something about the ISTE conference or NotatISTE even better!

The Virtual Education Journal (VEJ) invites Games & Sims to contribute each issue. While the focus generally is on virtual worlds, video games, AR and VR they have always been very open to anything game related we have submitted. We have also put in articles about coding and hackathons.  This is a practitioner journal. It is not peer reviewed. It is also open to anything that your students may have written also. I have had undergrads submit write-ups of their projects. I know some other people have had their k-12 students write about Minecraft. It’s a place for you to highlight projects, professional development and even book reviews. They also love screenshots and pictures.

Here’s last year’s issue that came out before last year’s ISTE conference just to give you some ideas.

Summer 2016

This is from Roxie and Bob Vojtek, the editors of the journal.

I hope you are all having a wonderful, relaxing, FUN summer! Bob (BJ) and I just got back from our vacation and we are ready to start working on the summer issue of VEJ. Our goal is to get it out as soon as possible - hopefully right after Labor Day weekend, but definitely before we hit the fall equinox (September 22nd).  I have received a couple of articles from some of you, but need more.

Just remember, VEJ is only as good as we all make it. I hope you will consider writing an article for the summer issue of VEJ - DUE DATE IS AUGUST 20, 2017. Articles can be about favorite places to visit, how to…, the important work you are doing in virtual environments - either digitally, using VR & AR, and/or in games and other virtual environments. I would love to have someone showcase the work VSTE has done over the summer in Minecraft - including lessons learned and/or how people will use what they did this summer with students this year. Or write a review about a favorite book you read this summer that the rest of us may want to read.

If you want to submit anything, email as a word doc or docx single spaced to Roxie Vojtek  Include pictures as .png or .jpg in the highest resolution possible.
