ISTE Standard Assessment for Dissertation Research

    I am looking for an ISTE standard assessment based on the new standards that could be used to conduct a survey with the directors of post-secondary programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

    The goal is to determine if these types of programs are currently addressing ISTE standards and which standards/components students in these programs are currently meeting. Ultimately, the goal will be to create a quality indicator matrix to assist university programs with implementing the ISTE standards within these types of programs.
    Do you know of any instruments that may exist that I could use for this purpose?
    Additionally, if there any individuals who have done work related to the ISTE standards in settings with individuals with disabilities at the K-12 or university level that you know of, please let me know! I would love to discuss this topic with them.

    I've done some extensive research looking for assessment tools, but most of what I have found is either based off of the old student standards or does not really fit with what I am attempting to research.
    Any resources or information you can provide is appreciated!

    Hi Sara.
    Forewarning = I don't have what you're looking for.

    However, I really like the question you're asking. ISTE has developed a number of proprietary standards-based assessments over the years (usually in conjunction with a PD program we run), but none have been aimed at higher ed program directors focusing on individuals with disabilities. Thus, you may have to pursue a homegrown route. If so, I might recommend two ISTE books which could help = Dive into UDL and The New Assistive Tech. Finally, if you come up with any brilliant solutions, we'd love to see what you built, how you used it, and how well it worked. Feel free to ping me anytime!

    All the best,
    Brandon
