    Hello everyone!
We are considering to live stream our classes, could you recommend some educational platforms? Has anyone been using the Google Meet or YouTube live stream feature? I understand that G Suite Education will allow us to use the Meet live streaming feature until September 30, but after that, it will be limited to G Suite Enterprise (so we will need to upgrade).

I'd appreciate any ideas or information that you could share. Thank you!

Hi! I haven't used these features live with students, but I did test out the Google Meet livestream feature in Spring 2020. There is a slight delay in what you say when it is streamed via Google Meets. It's not too bad, but if you are following a chat feature, or expect interactivity, that is something to keep in mind. I would say the delay is around 10-30 seconds. I hope this information helps!

Hi Mia, thanks for the info! I just tested Meet live stream today, yes there's a 15s delay. The only issue now is this feature does not work on iPads, only computers.
    Take care,

    Hi Daniela,
I am interested in what you have discovered about live streaming. We are investigating the possibility of live streaming our classes for remote instruction in the fall. I have tested YouTube live and that seems to work fairly well. I am hesitant to use Google Meet since the live stream function is set to expire on 9/30/20. I have been looking into webcams and microphones for better video and audio. Would appreciate any feedback you have.
    Thank you!

Our office uses Zoom to live stream to both Facebook and YouTube. What is nice about the YouTube stream is that it automatically records and 'lives' there. We use this frequently and have not had any issues. I hope this helps!
