I'm hosting a webinar on the top resources for student engagement during remote learning.  What are some tools you could never live without both for yourself and for your students?

I am partial to Wixie by Tech4Learning. I was volunteering with a class before the pandemic and we continue to create in Wixie, and using a few Google Tools as well. I had a mom reach out and share how her daughter is using it to journal the experience.

    Great question @Laurie Guyon
I am definitely using Buncee a lot and also rely on Nearpod, Flipgrid and Quizizz to use with my Spanish and STEAM classes. I did start using Newsela again in my STEAM classes during this time.

Zoom, Nearpod, FlipGrid, Kahoot, Quizlet, and any other app that has a "response required" feature so students can remain engaged instead of just watching/participating passively :)

One resource I see missing from other responses is Edpuzzle. Students have to answer questions or read a side note posted by teacher as they watch instruction videos. Keeps them engaged and also provides formative assessment. Great selection of resources already created and very easy to modify to meet your needs.

    1. Pear Deck is my current favorite for creating interactive lessons that can be done asynchronously or live. Teachers can gather formative assessment data as well since student responses can be viewed in the teacher dashboard. Integrates with Google Classroom or can be shared by link.
    2. I also think EdPuzzle is a great resources to embedding comprehension checks in videos. I just saw an announcement that Screencastify and EdPuzzle are now integrated, which is something new to investigate.

    Hi Laurie!
I definitely cannot live without Meet, Flipgrid and Padlet for my students directly.  Those are my top 3.  Meet is really for office hours/Q&A.  My students use Flipgrid and Padlet to share and discuss their work.  I also rely heavily on Pear Deck for capturing responses during student paced lessons and also to use as a whiteboard and feedback tool during live sessions.  The last is Screencastify to be able to make video explainers for my students.
