By seeing themselves and their stories reflected accurately in curriculum, teachers can amplify the voices of diverse students and provide them with opportunities to be heard. This session will empower participants to integrate culturally expansive practices using research-based strategies, as well as Arab/Muslim American historical resources that can create community and empowerment for diverse students, with a focus on Arab and Muslim student histories and narratives. We’ll include a discussion of trauma-informed curriculum to help students navigate generational trauma, and will emphasize creating space within the classroom for inclusive and diverse narratives.

Presented by Sawsan Jaber, Ed.D, NBCT, Teacher Leader/Consultant; ISTE Community Leader.
