Writing AI Chatbots as Personas of Real People

When:  Mar 20, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM (PT)
Associated with  Games and Simulations Network

Commercial use of AI chatbots has been limited to bot conversations that engage web users, but bots have greater educational value beyond offering engagement. In writing courses, writing as a persona is a form of ekphrasis or rhetorical exercise, and making bots can also serve as an ekphrasis writing exercise. In this webinar, we’ll explain how to teach students to do research and create a bot that pretends to be a real person so that they, in turn, can understand and develop empathy for that real person.

This ISTE Expert Webinar is presented by Sherry Jones of the ISTE Games and Simulations Network.
