    Hi All,

My county used to utilize Brightbytes, a data analytics organization built specifically for K-12, to provide insights into our new and changing learning environments with the goal of ensuring personalized learning support for all students. As part of this initiative, we distributed a survey to capture staff, student and family perspectives around classroom support and resources (e.g., access to technology, instructional support at school and at home, student social emotional competencies, etc.). We utilized this information to inform instructional technology decisions for the next year.

Brightbytes has been acquired by Google and is not currently available for use as we would only be able to have access for one more year. We have decided to not continue with that additional year and we are looking for a  new tool that could help us. Additionally, Brightbytes provided us with data around what programs we were utilizing and the impact they had on our students because we were able to add our MAP assessment data to the portal.

I would love suggestions of other tools that we might be able to utilize.

    Thank you,

    Heather

Wow, I had not heard that Google acquired BrightBytes - we used it for years. I am interested to know what Google will do with Brightbytes! I was unable to find an alternative tools when we stoppped using it a few years back. I use this teacher efficacy belief tool for science, but I would love something similar for technology integration.

Looking forward to hearing from others as well,

    Rae

Have you looked at Lightspeed Digital Insights, formerly CatchOn?  Lightspeed Digital Insight™: Data Insights for K-12 Schools (lightspeedsystems.com)

We've been using it for several years.  The product continues to add features to provide us views and usage stats on all applications - locally installed and web-based.  It shows apps, locations, devices, and students accessing applications.  There are dashboard views, drilldowns on each app, automated widgets to give views of specific apps in a content area, and Data Privacy stamps. Our content supervisors use it to compare/contrast application usage on free vs. paid apps.  It's worth a look.
