Dr. Susan R. Poyo has been teaching for over 25 years. Her experiences both in and out of the classroom extend from K-12 to Higher Education and Adult Education. She is the recipient of the 2016 Research Award for Innovation for the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL). Currently an Assistant Professor at Franciscan University, her pre-service teachers are a constant source of encouragement and inspiration for her research, presenting both nationally and internationally on TPACK, Curriculum Design and Assessment, and Online Learning.
Susan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Florida State University, her Reading Specialist Certification from Fayetteville State University, her Master of Science in Education at Franciscan University, and her doctorate in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University. Preparing teachers to educate the 21st century learner is her passion as she engages her students in critical thinking, inquiry and practical application of effective integration of technology.
