I was born in Vancouver, B.C. Canada to Spanish parents. This multicultural and bilingual setting has influenced my professional choices. My PhD is on culture as a skill in the foreign language classroom. I have taught and/or researched in North America, Europe and the Middle East. I was a Fulbright exchange teacher in 2001-an experienced that changed my personal and profession perspectives. I became SFHEA in January 2019. Going through the process to become a Senior Fellow was an excellent exercise of retrospect and reflection. I have been creating online courses and materials for EFL students since 2006. I am a lifelong learner and like to think that I transfer that enthusiasm to my students.
